What is Export Market Development Grant
The EMDG scheme:
- An incentive scheme offered
to small to medium sized Australian businesses to develop their export
markets
- Allows 50% of eligible
export promotion expenses over $10,000 to be reimbursed, considering that
export expenses are at least $20,000
- Every eligible applicant is
offered up to seven grants.
All travel expenses and airfares for promoting your business overseas can be claimed. All transport costs and accommodation expenses during marketing visits overseas can be claimed under this category.
Cost involved in engaging consultants or employees to promote your products and services overseas.
- All communication expenses such as international phone calls , fax for marketing can be claimed.
- Cost of free samples for promotions & marketing overseas including their freight charges can be claimed.
- All expenses incurred for participation overseas at Trade fares, Seminars and also in-store promotions are claimable.
- Literature and other material used for advertising overseas which may include cost for setting up a website may be claimable.
- Expenses for Inviting overseas buyers to Australia with the purpose of buying your goods or services as well as of promoting your business may be claimed
- Costs involved in patenting and trade mark registration may be claimed
Ineligible expenses
- Expenses not substantiated
- Expenses incurred by a related business entity
- Expenses relating to business with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) (North Korea), Iran and New Zealand
